There’s a version of the Pecan Springs Ranch reception hall that shows up in most of the photos on the website: warm evening light, string lights overhead, the glass back wall open to the property. It’s a great room, and we might be biased, but we feel like it photographs pretty darn well all on its own.
But then there’s the version Ida Mayes Floral Design House built for the Kropp and Chabalas wedding in April of 2026.

The difference is a hanging floral installation suspended from the peak of the vaulted ceiling. A full floral chandelier made of cascading greenery, blue hydrangea, blush and peach garden roses, white blooms, and trailing stems. We aren’t exaggerating when we say it moved with the air in the room. Unique Design Events framed it with white ceiling draping on both sides, so the installation really popped against a clean backdrop. The result was a room that looked completely different from any previous wedding that’s ever been photographed in this space.
A floral chandelier is a suspended arrangement hung from the ceiling, typically above the dance floor or the head table. Unlike a centerpiece, which anchors a table, a hanging installation fills vertical space and changes what the room feels like to stand in.
The Kropp and Chabalas installation sat directly under the peak of PSR’s vaulted ceiling, between the exposed dark wood beams. From below, it looked like a garden ceiling: loose, layered, and full. Ida Mayes works with what she describes as a “flower-first” approach, and the installation showed that in the way the blooms were arranged. No rigid geometry or forced arrangements. You could tell this was a design built around how the flowers naturally wanted to sit. It was effortless and stunning and breathtaking all at once.
The palette, which included soft blues, blush, ivory, and peach, kept the room light and airy even with a large-scale installation overhead. A heavier or darker color choice would have been too dramatic. This one read perfectly as an elevated garden party, which fit the afternoon light coming through PSR’s large windows.

The table florals matched the installation in palette and sensibility. Low, loose arrangements in the same blush, peach, and soft blue combination (think garden roses, cosmos, ranunculus, delphinium) sat alongside tall taper candles in clear glass holders from Table Manners. The tabletop rentals kept things clean: coupe glasses, simple neutral linens, uncluttered place settings that let the flowers carry the table rather than competing with them.
The combination of a large overhead installation and lower table arrangements is intentional. You get the drama from above and the intimacy at eye level, without the room feeling over-designed. It’s a balance that works especially well in PSR’s reception hall because the ceiling height gives the installation room to breathe without crowding the guests underneath it.

A wedding like this only happens on the vendor relationships behind it. The Kropp and Chabalas team included this all-star group:

PSR’s reception hall is a room that responds to what you bring in. The white walls, vaulted ceiling, and floor-to-ceiling glass doors give florists and rental companies a very flexible canvas, which is why two weddings photographed in the same space can look like completely different venues depending on the design choices behind them.
